well, we have to admit that 4K exists only in our hearts now. it is our past, and it takes a great deal of fate for 25 of us to strive together in the same class.
there are a few differences between 3k05 and 4k06. i'd not comment on them, since it is largely dependent on one's psychological viewpoint. it has really been great in 4k, in a class small enough and yet packs a punch. are we the most influential class? probably.
it is never going to be the same again, no matter how idealised your views are. there are some going to be full science students, full humanities, or some way in between. we have diverse interests, one can ramble on about Shakespeare, while hearing something on Feynman isn't a great deal.
we'll have to understand the school's decision to put us together. they saw our potential and want us to succeed, better than other classes. no, this is not elitism, but a fact. not that i am saying that other people are not gonna do well, but the mindset is what will bring you far, not the little digits on a piece of paper with the principal's signature.
can you remember what mrs shu had said? "you are the best class"
indeed. not just acedemic wise i believe. it is this internal passion that we want to succeed in life, that is much stronger than our peers in singapore. we must thank the school for giving us the chance to live our 2 years in a more interactive environment, to nurture us to the fullest.
if you note the trend, there are about 36 students in each dhp class, except us. why didn't the school average us out? simply because we are a SBGE class.
we are special in a way that we are the first SBGE-IP class in the history of dunman high. never before had GE students study in the same environment as nonGE students. note what mr kiw said in the interview. it is a milestone. something that will be a legacy in years to come.
we might have a few overseas merit scholars here, president's scholar even, national science scholars, whatever. we share a common background, and that's all that it matters.
